Weekly Update!

Hey everyone! Just thought I’d do a quick, non-creative blog post today to just generally talk about some things. So yeah, I’m just going to get right down to it.

First off, I just want to say thank you to everyone that has bought a copy of my book, A Monstrous Tomorrow, I’m grateful beyond comprehension, beyond words, beyond anything imaginable. You get the idea. So simply put, thank you.

If you haven’t heard as well, I will be doing a book signing in Peru, Illinois on September 8th. If you’re interested in the details, they can be on found  by clicking here. I’m also considering adding other places and dates, so if you know somewhere that would like to bring me in or would like to see me in your area, comment and let me know!

As always, once you finish reading the book, make sure to head back to Amazon and leave a review. Don’t worry, I will not be upset if it’s a bad review either. Any kind of commentary on it will help further my development as a writer. If you don’t wish to leave a review on Amazon, you can also help out by reviewing or rating on Goodreads as well. It’s easy to set up an account on there and if you’re a book lover, it’s well worth having.

Finally, I know I have people reading this blog from various media outlets. So I figured what I would do here is just share the various social media outlets I have and extend an invitation out to everyone to begin following them and explain generally what I use them for.

So obviously I do have this blog and for anyone that reads it off of other social media platforms and enjoys the content, I invite you to follow this page. By doing so, you’ll receive an email every time a new post is made, that way you never have to miss out!

Next I have my Facebook page that is simply Ty Noel. This is what I consider my official business page at the moment. It is here where all my official business as an author can be found.

I also have a twitter account with the handle TyNoel. It is here where I tend to discuss writing, my passion for the Bears, and just other things I find funny. I can also be found on instagram at TyNoel91 and I will be honest, that mainly has pictures of anything that is around me at the time or of my dog. He’s pretty cute and pretty much the only reason to follow my Instagram. I have also set up a ko-fi account as well, where donations can be made to help with basic things like paying for advertisement or getting new equipment.

Well I believe that about does it for this post. Thank you for reading, thank you for being supportive, and of course, enjoy the weekend!

P.S. my book is FREE if you have Amazon Prime, which if you do, there’s no reason you haven’t read it yet! So get out there and read that copy today!

News, News, News

Hello everybody!

So I apologize now, but this post does not have any new creative work in it today. As much as I’ve enjoyed writing for everyone, I felt there were several things that needed to be shared and it was a bit much to try and share it all as a single post on any social media platform. With that being said, lets get into it.

So first things first, if you still haven’t checked out my book on Kindle yet, you can purchase it here. If you have purchased it, whether you loved or hated it, please leave a review on Amazon’s page for me. The more people that review it, the higher the chances Amazon will advertise it frequently.  I also understand there is a minor grammatical error in the dedication and a formatting issue in the first story. Do not worry, as soon as the paperback is released, I will be making the appropriate changes to the ebook.

With that being said, in regards to the book, I will hopefully have the paperback ready by the end of the week, if not the beginning of the next. With this being my first book and adventure into publishing, I had decided to try and forego hiring anyone to do the formatting. Although it has gone great so far, Amazon is quite tricky with their requirements but hopefully we can meet all of them soon so that everyone can have a physical copy in their hands.

Once my book is ready on both of these platforms I plan on looking into getting my book set for audiobook as well. It is a platform I feel is important to use not just so people have an easier time reading my book, but so that it is available to anyone that may not be capable of physically reading it as well.

Finally, in book related news, I am happy to report that I have begun outlining a follow up to this collection of short stories. While A Monstrous Tomorrow is a collection of short stories, this next book will be a complete novel. As of right now the only details I can confidently share is that the book will take place in the fictional town of Galena Park and will follow the character at the end of A Monstrous Tomorrow.

In blog related news, after a nice discount supplied by WordPress, I was able to get the rights to my blog. If you wish to search for it without using Facebook or Twitter, simply type in tynoelonline.com where you can now find all of my posts. I also have an author page as well on Amazon that you can visit and follow here.

Finally, here is what to expect from my blog as I continue forward. The next two weeks will hopefully be filled with nothing but creative works. While the rest of this week will be random pieces, next week will have four flash pieces that will interconnect in a fun way and will be something that needs to be tuned in to each day. After next week I will be releasing my Patreon page for readers. On this page readers will have a chance to donate money and make requests on what they’d like me to write. A story about dragons? Sure! How about a romp into a romantic story? Done! Maybe you just want to see how my process works? You got it. By doing this, I hope that we can help each other out. On the one hand, it will help supply me with a bit of income from my writing, and in return, you can have a personalized story written.

Thats all I have for now! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more!

Thank You.

So it took me awhile to figure out how I wanted to say thank you. I debated on trying to do a creative piece that expressed how I felt, but I felt that no matter what I created it wouldn’t express what I was feeling. I thought maybe writing a heartfelt status on Facebook would show my gratitude, but that still didn’t feel like enough. So I decided instead to settle in on what makes the most sense, a simple blog post sharing my gratitude.

It honestly blows me away with how quickly my page has taken off. I launched less than a month ago and as I sit here writing I’ve seen that already the page has right around 140 followers, which to me is still just baffling. It gives me the inspiration to sit down and write everyday because I know that I’m no longer just screaming into the void, but that I actually have an audience that is reading and caring. So again, thank you.

I could sit here and gush all day about how much I love all of you that have made sure to help promote my current endeavor. For any of you that know me personally, you know my dream is to be a full time creative writer. I want nothing more than to write and create for everyone and I hope as I continue this blog you will want to share the content I create because it has either entertained you, informed you, or touched you in some way.

Now a look into the future or a few things to look forward to. As of right now I have a total of eight blog posts, nine after today, and the way things are looking, at least 4 of them will be about me. I plan on having that change a bit. From what I can tell, my creative pieces have done extremely well, so within the next few weeks expect more of those. In addition, I will also be working towards having what I call more “think” pieces. These will be things that have caught my attention in the news or pop culture during the week that I’ll research and give my own opinion on. An example would be my blog on The Millennial Concept.

All of this is still going to be fluid for a bit as I try to find my footing in both blogging and scripting. A lot of time at the moment is going into creating new works for my film group called Pantheon Productions. This will be a new platform I’m working into that has a lot more creative originals from myself and will be brought to you by a fantastic team.

Overall, I’ve begun building my life as a writer to be a fun and chaotic mess that I love. Each person that reaches out and gives me feedback, either positive or negative, gives me the kick in the ass I need to keep on working. So because of this, let me say one last time thank you. Oh, and of course, enjoy your weekend and expect a new post Monday.

Update: Where Have I Been?

Hello all!

Let me first start off by giving an apology for my disappearance over the last two weeks. As I sit here and write this post I realize that there hasn’t been anything posted in the last two weeks so I thought I would just give an update on where I’m at and what I’m doing.

First and foremost, if you haven’t heard yet, Kylee and I recently made a big move to Champaign. It’s been pretty exciting and I personally can’t wait to explore this town and see what all it has to offer. That is essentially the main reason for my mini hiatus. We spent a bit of time getting things packed up, then of course moving it, and then finally going through the usual long and boring process of unpacking. Now that we’re settled in however, I plan on getting back to writing and posting content daily.

During this off-time however, I had been thinking of how I’m going to format this blog. The first week where I wrote about millennials for a few days was fun, but I don’t believe having a weekly theme is going to be as great as I initially envisioned. Instead, I want to be more hands on with my approach. I want to be able to reach out to my audience and see what YOU, my readers would like to see each day. My plan is to ask each morning for a topic to write on and if I don’t get any responses, so be it. I’ll find something myself. No matter what though, expect some new work to be coming your way each day.

One thing that will stay the same from my initial idea is giving free creative content each week. When I started, I had one creative piece entitled “The Old Man and the Millennial,” which if you haven’t read it yet, give it a look, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Much like my regular blog posts, I will crowd source during the day to see if anyone has a particular story, setting, plot, etc, they would like me to take a swing at. My goal is to try and do this every Tuesday and Thursday so if that’s all you want to read, keep an eye out for it then.

Finally, since my primary writing style is creative writing, I thought I may share just a tidbit of what creative work I’m currently doing. The big project that I’m taking on, with the help of my buddy Jurgen, is an expansive YouTube universe. I’m currently in the process of writing several scripts, which we hope to continuously film over the next several months. We even started our own page and production group called Pantheon Productions, and if you like the page this week you’ll get to see a nice introduction video that will go into greater detail of what we’re working on and what to expect.

So that’s it for this post. If you have any questions or ideas for my next post, feel free to get at me on this site or on my Facebook or Twitter. Have a great one everyone and expect some fun things to head your way!

Introduction

Hello everyone!

So this post is just to give everyone an idea of what to expect from following either my Facebook page, my Twitter account, or even just this blog itself. I decided to create this  as a way to get myself into the habit of writing everyday and to bring original content to an audience that may be interested in what I have to say. Since pitching this idea to some friends and family members, the question that was repeatedly asked was “what is this blog going to be about?” This is something I’ve pondered a bit and wasn’t 100% sure on. I find that I have a lot of interests and there are a lot of things I could touch on. Would it be a blog covering sports that I care about? Would it be on the science of writing and what it takes to be creative? Or maybe it would be a blog on advice, something to teach people what I’ve learned and discovered over my vast 26 years of life. In the end, I decided to settle in on something that would make me happy and get me excited to write everyday.

In short, this blog is going to be about me. My goal is to try and have a loose theme for each week. My writing could focus on something exciting going on like the World Cup. I may write on a current event taking place and try to write about it from a non-political point of view. I could write on a certain movie or genre of movie that has become popular. I’d give more examples but I’m sure you know what I mean by now.

Something that this blog will also offer is some free creative content each week. My goal is to have at least two short stories published a week on this page for everyone to enjoy. In the essence of having a weekly theme, these short works will also reflect what has been discussed on here. So if there is a World Cup theme, there may be a day where a non-fiction piece is published from when I played soccer or a fiction piece may be published about an athlete. This is something that I feel will work two-fold. It’ll be great for me to keep my writing chops up to par and it’ll provide some free and fun entertainment for you, my captivated audience, to enjoy.

This blog will exist as many things but it is my hope that first and foremost, it’ll exist as a form of entertainment. I’m writing so that you, my readers, have something fun to look forward to reading everyday. This blog will always be open for discussion and I will never shy away from any comments or questions you may have. I am also willing to take on any requests or suggestions as well. If there is something you’d like to see me write about, feel free to leave a comment or contact me on any of my pages and I’d be more than happy to make something work.

I believe that’s all I have to say for today. Keep an eye on this page as a steady stream of content will be coming by early next week. Have a great weekend everyone!
